LITECORE™

Built around a lightweight LITECORE™ construction, the Phenom leg pads provide a significant reduction in weight while maintaining the structure and durability young goalies need to stay agile and reactive in the crease. This lighter build makes transitions easier and allows for faster movements from post to post.

Single Inner and Outer Break

Featuring single inner and outer breaks, the core of the Phenom pads is designed to flex smoothly with the goalie’s body, making it easier to drop into the butterfly or push across the crease without feeling stiff or restricted. These flexible breaks create a softer flex profile that’s friendly to youth mechanics while still maintaining coverage and structure.

Flat-Face DFLEX 

The flat-face DFLEX build gives these pads a clean, broad surface for developing directional rebound control. By minimizing rolls and contours, this design helps goalies learn how to angle pucks more consistently, supporting both fundamentals and reaction-based saves.

Hexa Suede Grip Lining

To help goalies stay centered and protected, CCM equips the Phenom pads with dense knee and calf padding, providing thick, impact-absorbing cushion through the key contact areas. On top of the knee stacks, a Hexa Suede grip lining adds an extra layer of control, offering a tacky, hex-textured surface that helps keep knees in place during lateral movements and saves.

ADPTFIT Upper Calf Strap

The ADPTFIT upper calf strap acts similarly to a traditional professor strap, offering a secure anchor point around the upper calf to help stabilize the pad during movement. This flexible yet supportive strap allows for natural rotation above the knee, helping the pads stay aligned during high-paced play without feeling overly tight or restrictive.

Tight Leg Channel

A tight leg channel with a comfort wrap design keeps the pad close to the leg, enhancing the goalie’s ability to control pad rotation and ensuring a smooth, predictable drop into the butterfly. The snug fit boosts on-ice confidence, while the comfort wrap helps reduce friction and discomfort over extended play.

Shallow, Soft Flex Boot

At the bottom of the pad, a shallow, soft flex boot allows for greater articulation around the ankle, enabling smooth transitions between stances while maintaining coverage along the ice. This design helps younger goalies feel less resistance from the pad when recovering or pushing out of a save.

Hybrid Lace Toe Ties

To maximize ankle mobility without sacrificing pad security, the offset Hybrid Lace Toe Ties feature both static skate laces and flexible Velcro® connectors. This hybrid system ensures the pads stay locked in during powerful pushes while also allowing enough flex to reduce strain and promote more natural foot positioning.
